Before repairing the butterfly valve, first close the shut-off valve in front of the butterfly valve, open the butterfly valve that requires repair, and completely release the internal pressure of the valve body. For electric butterfly valves or pneumatic butterfly valves, you must first disconnect the power and air supply.

Third, ordinary soft sealing butterfly valves use PTFE or rubber as the sealing material, and the sealing surface of hard sealing butterfly valves is made of metal. If the butterfly valve needs to be cleaned, care must be taken to prevent seal damage and leakage during the disassembly process.

When removing a flanged butterfly valve, first fasten the bolts and nuts to the flange, then tighten all the nuts slightly, and finally secure them with force. If you force each nut first and then another nut, surface irregularities can damage or break the flange surface and cause the valve flange to leak.
